Board Meetings are held starting at 6:30 the second Thursday of every month. Please see the events page for specific locations. All members and friends of Penn State are welcome to attend. If you would like to speak at a board meeting, offer ideas, observe us in action, or get involved there is no better way. The board nearly always has positions open and avenues for involvement available.
Join Chapter Members at Lancaster Brewing Company for a fraternal gathering. If you are not a member, but a fan or fellow Alumni, come join us. The event is from 5 until 7:00. Come to learn about what our plans are, to join the club, for the $2.50 pints or other possible specials or just come to get to know some fellow Penn Staters.
The chapter is running an unprecedented second basketball trip on Saturday, February 13, 2010. Join other Penn Staters at Whitaker Center on Tuesday, April 13 at 5:30 p.m. for this “City Lights” event. For a stimulating presentation on green energy projects in Pennsylvania by Seth Blumsack, assistant professor of energy policy and economics. There will be delicious food on hand. City Lights events are sponsored by the Penn State Alumni Association in cooperation with Penn State’s colleges and alumni groups. Proceeds benefit the Four Diamonds fund. Please join the Chapter on February 18th at Appalachian Brewing Company (ABC) in our effort to support THON. The Penn State Dance Marathon (THON) is a year long effort to raise funds and awareness for the effort against pediatric cancer. With the support of students all across the Commonwealth and THON alumni around the world, we continue to make great strides to finding a cure for all childhood cancers. Please join the Harrisburg Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association in supporting this cause by stopping by one of the Appalachian Brewing Company locations either in Camp Hill or Harrisburg for dinner and drinks. When you do, mention your desire to support THON through the Chapter and a portion of your purchase costs will go toward THON. Locations:

The Penn State Harrisburg Chapter of the Alumni Association is now sending three buses to go to the Penn State vs. Indiana Game on November 20th at FeEx field in Landover MD. Two of the buses filled in three weeks. The third will go fast, so do not hesitate to join the Chapter for this bus trip to FedEx field. Yes, this field is the home of the Washington Redskins. The trip includes: a game ticket, motor coach transportation, refreshments on the bus and a pig roast on the game site. The cost is $139/person. Mark your calendars! Friday, August 6 the our Chapter will be hosting the annual scholarship golf tournament at Armitage Golf Course. Sign up as a single for $70, or get together a foursome. Sponsors, please contact Joe Bowker, (717) 232-7154. All benefits go to the scholarship fund for incoming in need Freshmen from Cumberland and Dauphin Counties. The $70 fee includes the 4-person scramble, greens fees, cart and dinner.
Registration: 11:30 a.m. Volunteers: Contact Joe Bowker, 232-7154. Before the tournament volunteers are needed for engaging sponsors, recruiting golfers and organizing. During the tournament volunteers are needed for hole watching, beverage cart driving and staffing the registration desk. This is a fun, engaging and rewarding annual effort. All volunteers may attend the dinner, free of charge.

Join the Chapter when the Senators host the Altoona Curve on July 18th at 12:45 p.m. in the Senators' new ball park. The picnic area opens at 12:30, a catered picnic will be served in the third base picnic area at 1:00 p.m. and game time is 2:00 p.m. The picnic is an all-you-can-eat style buffet. Cost is $20 for Adults who are Chapter Members and $10 for Children. Non-members may join us for $22 for adults and $12 for children. Alcoholic beverages are available for purchase at the ballpark. She (/he) who hesitates is lost. Our Chapter is hosting a trip to Columbus Ohio by motor coach from November 12 through the 14th. The trip includes the bus, a game ticket per seat, two nights hotel accommodations, a pre-game buffet, a covered tent tailgate party, an all you can eat Sunday breakfast/brunch buffet and a trip souvenir. The price is $450 per person for double room occupancy and $575 for a single room occupancy. Join us to cheer on the Nittany Lions in Columbus.
